Requirements
To install the Quietly Insights analytics code, you’ll need to have a Quietly Insights account; you can sign up here.
Install the Quietly Insights analytics code by copying and pasting the analytics code into your site. Alternatively, if your site runs on WordPress, you can install the WordPress Plugin. Click here to skip down to the WordPress plugin installation instructions
Copy and paste method
Copy your analytics code from the ‘Analytics Code’ section of your Property Settings, and paste it right before the </head> tag in the HTML code for each page of your site. The code should look something like this:
If you’re using a content management system (like Hubspot, Squarespace, Joomla, Drupal, etc.), there’s often a built-in way to add code to your site. Look for “code injection”, “HTML tag” or “tracking code” options in your admin panel to add the Quietly Insights analytics code to your site.
Every website and CMS will be structured differently, so this method might vary for your site. If you’re not sure how to access your site’s HTML code, send this guide to your webmaster, IT department, developer, or technical resource.
Once you’ve pasted the code above the </head> tag of your site, go back to your report settings and hit the “Verify” button.
If you see that green banner, you’re good to go! If not, double check that:
- You copied and pasted the analytics code properly on all pages you want to gather data for.
- The sample content URL you entered in your Property Settings matches the site where the analytics code is installed.

WordPress Plugin Method
- Login to your WordPress system and click the Plugins menu item on the left sidebar. If this menu item is not available, you might not have the right permissions to install plugins. In this case, talk to your site administrator to get access or to install the plugin.
-
- Click “Add New”
- Search for “Quietly Insights” in the search bar, and click Install Now to install the Quietly Insights plugin. The plugin should be by Quietly Media, Inc.
Alternatively, you can download the plugin here and manually upload it using the Upload Plugin option.
- Once the plugin is finished installing, click Activate Plugin.
- Once activated, a Quietly Insights banner should be available for your Installed Plugins page. Click Add Your Property ID in the banner. Enter your Property ID and click Verify. You should have received a Property ID when creating your first report. If you don’t have that on hand, find your Property ID in the WordPress Plugin section of your report settings.
If you see that green check mark, you’re good to go!
If you don’t, here are some common issues:
- You entered an invalid property ID. Double-check to make sure you didn’t make any typos, and try again
- Your property ID is already in use. If you would like to gather data for more than one site, you’ll need to sign up for another account
- The website URL you entered in your settings doesn’t match the site where the WordPress plugin is installed. You can change your website URL under the “Quietly Insights Analytics Code” section in your report settings.
